Ticket to Ride: Europe

Ticket to Ride: Europe is an award-winning board game classic. The simple rules, which are perfectly understandable from the age of 8, make this game a great board game for the whole family. The strategic possibilities in this game are endless. Different tactics can be tried in each game, so the game will surprise you with its variety every time.

Ticket to Ride: Europe‘s simple game rules allow you to understand the gameplay in about three moves. With four simple steps that are easy to remember, you don’t have to wait long for your turn. However, the abundance of tactical nuances means that the game will not get boring even after many plays.

Short rules

Each player receives 48 train cars of his color, 4 routes (at least 2 of which must be kept) and 5 train cards. During your turn you can do the following:

  1. Draw train cards

At the start of the game, players receive 2 train cards each. You can draw blindly from the pile of cards or choose from 5 face-up cards (only 1 card is obtained when taking a locomotive). During the game, this action can also be chosen to get more train cards.

  1. Build a path from trains of your color

When a player collects train cards (the required number and color), he can build a section on the map. He places trains of its color on its squares. Then you immediately get points based on the length of the segment (the longer it is, the more points).

When building a tunnel, you never know how many extra train cards you’ll need to spend for each locomotive card you turn up and those cards that match the color of the tunnel you’re building. Therefore, it is better to have a little more cards of the planned tunnel color in advance.

Ferries require an additional locomotive card for each locomotive symbol on the board.

  1. Draw a new route map

Draw 3 route cards from the ticket pile. It is mandatory to keep at least 1 of them.

  1. Build a train station

Each player gets three train station pieces at the start of the game. A train station can be placed on any city in the country. Then one path you choose leading into or out of that city is considered a path of your color. Each unused station at the end of the game gives 4 points.
