On October 5-8, the world’s largest board game fair “Spiel Essen” took place in Germany. We participate in this exhibition every year, so we haven‘t missed the opportunity to get to know the news of the gaming world this year. Have tried many new born games, talked to their creators. This exhibition is a great opportunity to feel game trends, to talk face-to-face with partners and to find new great games that we could offer to players in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
The “Spiel Essen” board game fair celebrated its 40th anniversary this year. On that occasion, it attracted the largest number of visitors since the pandemic. This indicates that the flows of visitors and participants are normalizing and returning to normal. 193,000 visitors attended the exhibition this year – about 30% more than in 2022.
The four-day event covered a huge area – altogether larger than 11 American football fields. The exhibition was divided into separate segments for children, family, easy, medium, expert, miniatures, role-playing and other games, so that everyone could find what they were looking for.
